Our Approach

We only collect data that is needed for the organisation of canoe slalom competitions.

We limit sharing of data to that needed to take payment for your entries and to organise slaloms and paddler rankings

Publically Shared Data

Some of your data will be shared in public locations - on websites and start/results list. This includes your name, ranking, club and age category.

Occasionally an entry may be shown with a report-to-control flag. This may potentially provide additional information about you.

Collection, Use and Sharing of your Personal Data

Canoeslalomentries collects your personal data in three ways:

  1. when you provide it directly to us, eg by entering your email address;
  2. when we extract data, such as name and age group, relating to your ranking status from third party databases, eg the ranking database;
  3. when you provide your data to the competition organiser, who may then add your entry to our database.

Canoeslalomentries will only collect the personal information that we need to organise and run the slaloms. Some data may be stored to maintain a historical record of slalom entries and results year on year indefinitely.

Where appropriate, details collected and stored (eg name, age category, ranking and club) may be publicly displayed on this and other web-sites to create start and results lists.

Your data, including your email address, will be shared with the organiser and may be shared with other officials within the canoe slalom community for the purposes of running the sport. It may also be downloaded to use in timing and results systems and passed to the ranking database.

Canoeslalomentries does not store your credit card data directly. This is held by the credit card processing company, Stripe, whose privacy policy can be viewed at Stripe Privacy Policy. We may pass some of your personal data, including your email address, to for the purposes of payment verifications and processing.

Canoeslalomentries may also share portions of your data with other systems and suppliers that are required to run the website. We may also share your data with appropriate authorities where necessary, for example: During the COVID pandemic we may be required to submit your details to NHS Test and Trace following attendance at a competition.

Canoeslalomentries does not sell or rent your Personal data to marketers or to third parties (other than those mentioned above).

We and competition organisers may use your email address to send information to you about your entry and/or the competition. We may also, very occasionally, use your email address to get feedback about the Website and/or the organisation of the sport.

Treasurer's, Clubs, and Organisers

Treasurer's will be asked for additional personal data required by Stripe to verify the club as the recipient of payments. This data is passed directly to Stripe and held under their privacy policy (see above).

CanoeSlalomEntries may also send a small number of automated emails to organisers about their competition, eg to inform them of payment failures or warn them if an action is due.
